The reason Senator Grassley was concerned is that the plans cap the amount that UnitedHealth pays for medical services but do not provide catastrophic coverage for members. In effect AARP members will have a considerable deficit to pay for their health treatments.

The research also indicates that the addition of exercise to a weight-loss regimen does not change body composition and abdominal fat distribution, debunking the idea that specific exercises can reduce fat in targeted areas (e.g., exercise to reduce fat around a person's midsection).

"It's all about the calories," said Dr. Eric Ravussin of the Pennington Biomedical Research Center in Baton Rouge, La., and senior author of the study. "So long as the energy deficit is the same, body weight, fat weight, and abdominal fat will all decrease in the same way."

We are genetically programmed for storing fat in a particular pattern — and that this programming can't be easily overcome. A prominent member of the Senate Finance Committee U.S. Sen Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa is looking into some niche health insurance plans offered to AARP members to see if they mislead purchasers into thinking the coverage is greater than it actually is.

Instead of capping what the policyholder pays, as traditional insurance does, these plans cap what the insurer pays. As a result, a policyholder who needs expensive care, such as major surgery, might wind up liable for thousands of dollars in medical bills if they exceed the insurer's share. The plans generally have lower premiums than traditional insurance with catastrophic coverage.

"The pitch for these products should be straight-up and informative, instead of designed to leave the impression of being comprehensive when the product is in fact very limited," Grassley said in a statement late Monday. "A big-time advocate of health security [AARP] should not target under- and uninsured Americans with misleading marketing."

Grassley sent letters Monday to state insurance commissioners asking if they've received complaints on the plans. He also sent a letter to AARP Chief Executive William Novelli asking how the plans are marketed.

"We're treating the questions raised by Sen. Grassley very seriously," said Adam Sohn, an AARP spokesman. "The indemnity plans are not designed to be comprehensive insurance, nor should they be communicated in this manner."

UnitedHealth spokeswoman Martha Jones said, "We do not market this as major medical catastrophic insurance, or as an alternative to major medical. All advertising materials note the plan offers limited benefits.''

AARP Health Insurance

AARP health insurance is big business for AARP. AARP services approximately seven million people with health insurance in partnership with United Healthcare and it plans to double the number of people it sells health insurance to.

Many of AARP members buy supplemental plans that beef up the coverage they get from the government, but the deal in 2007 with United Health and Aetna is to target a slightly younger crowd. The 50 to 64 age AARP members still working.

Dawn Sweeny the chief executive of AARP said that there is a great need in the 50 to 64 population particularly for affordable quality health care, with about 7.1 million people uninsured in that age. Older Americans who do not get their health insurance from their jobs often find that private coverage is too expensive to afford. With 38 million members AARP's size should help it keep prices down.

Sweeny also said that AARP expects to rake in roughly $4.4 billion in health insurance, health care royalties over the next seven years.

That is about $115 per member that AARP will receive in health insurance royalties. If you use the current figures doubling to 14 million AARP members with health insurance through AARP's partners United Heathcare and Aetna then that will be about $314 that AARP will receive in health insurance royalties over the next seven years from members with health insurance.

Health insurance is not cheap, in fact it is expensive and mostly does not cover all of the associated costs with health care. The balance has to be paid for by the AARP member.

So often you hear of people taking out second mortgages or others raising money for their friends or family to cover the balance of the health care costs not covered by health insurance.

Q. I'm 74, retired and living on a fixed income. I may not have enough money for my living expenses, but I own my own home. Is taking out a reverse mortgage a wise move?

A. It depends on your individual circumstances and wishes. Reverse mortgages can provide additional cash to help you remain independent in your home. But these loans can be very expensive, especially if you aren't able to stay in your house for many more years. Equity limits that affect how much you can borrow for a federally insured reverse mortgage (which represents at least 90 percent of the marketplace today) are also expected to increase shortly. OK good advice? A debatable point. Getting a job after retirement may be more stressing than people think initially. There will be a few rejections for sure. If you could handle that when you were younger that may be OK. It is more difficult to get a job beyond 50, believe me I know.

A reverse mortgage can become a nightmare if you live too long. Why risk it when you can generate a home business income for the rest of your life.

Honesty

A couple days ago on the Fox News Network the nose to nose
confrontation between Bill O'Reilly and Barney Frank exposed a basic
problem in our governments body of politicians. That problem is lying,
even in the exposing with proof that the individual lied he continued
to lie about it thus compounding his lies. This Clintonista type of
conduct is absolutely inexcusable and will not produce good results.
The groundwork for lying was enforced and approved during the Clinton
administration and has not improved during the Bush administration.
Even after impeachment they allowed him to remain in office. What a
stink. If just this one thing, if honesty ruled instead of lying would
make such an improvement that at first people would think the world is
being turned upside down. Wouldn't it be wonderful in your dealings if
we could depend on the other persons honesty. The corruption is so
foul that the stench is reaching into the heavens and if we don't
correct it, who will? It will be corrected, and I ask you, by whom?
Think about it.

I'm beginning to think that somewhere in the law courses in college
there must be a course labeled The Art Of Lying 101, 102, 103 etc. I
don't know if it is true or not but I have heard that in the
seminaries that the art of crying effectively is actually taught in
some of their public speaking classes. Personally I think their whole
course in public speaking is just one great lie. A lot of the TV
Evangelists have been experts in this art form of lying and crying.
There were some that even combined their drinking of alcohol and their
public displays right on TV. There was one released from prison after
stealing money for years from the gullible people, that has the
intestinal fortitude to return to TV with his stupid appearance of
lies and testimonies. All I have to say about that is, how
disgusting.

If you check my past blogs I have stated over and over that honesty is
the best policy in the conduct of you and your operation of your home
based business. At times honesty can be a little troubling at the
time, but if you really consider it to its end, you will find that
honest really pays. What will always trip you up is that you won't
always remember just what you lied about and stated, honesty has one
answer, however lies have many different answers. Multiple choice take
your pick and hope it's the right one. The sad part is that we are
learning life's lessons the hard way. I don't even want to hear about
the little white lie, take it up with God. A lie is a lie. Anybody
that thinks a little white lie is ok, they have been derailed and a
little white lie will eventually lead to the big one. Color it anyway
you want. That could be your first class in Color It The Way You Want;
Lie 101.

Visualization Marketing is a phrase that I coined some years ago.  I was in the process of beginning my online journey.  I was writing content to pursue different positions on Google and I decided to turn my thoughts towards this art and science.  Since I have been a supreme believer in visualization, I turned this towards marketing a home business.  I decided first to visualize the success that I desired, before I chose to do any work at all.  This process has never, nor will ever fail.  As a matter of fact, the first thing in either promoting a home business, or in life itself, you must align yourself properly with your thinking, the proceed to accomplish the work you decide to do.   The process of visualization marketing is simple.  As a matter of fact, it is so utterly simple, that most people entirely miss it.  They are busy running around here and there on the Internet.  They are probably posting classified ads, reading other so-called gurus material, buying software programs by the millions and generally missing the entire point of effective marketing plans.   This leads to the high failure rate in the home business industry.  I am sure that you have been involved in some, or in most cases, many online businesses that did absolutely nothing for you but waste your valuable time, money and effort.  I know because I have been there and done that many times as well.  The longer that I am involved in the home business industry, I begin to clearly see the problems associated with it.     Some home business problems are as follows:   Lack of due diligence in researching MLM businesses...
